Discovering a new animal. (I Like Science series)

Lunde, Darrin. Discovering a new animal. New York: Enslow, 2008.
978-0-7660-2815-9. 24p. $21.26. I like science series (nonfiction 590.1). Mammals-research.

This colorful book introduces the young reader to the work of the American Museum of Natural History naturalist Darrin Lunde. Filled with magnificent color photographs of life in the Vietnam rainforest, the brief text is enlightening and offers basic information about the work of a naturalist and the environments in which he works. This is enhanced by quotations from Mr. Lunde, a description of his search for undiscovered mammals, and a “You be the scientist” game. The book is simply and clearly written. It is library-bound, begins with a glossary and ends with a brief list of Darrin Lunde facts, a bibliography of books and Internet sites, and an index. SO
