Sam must spend the summer with his uncle Jasper in Egypt.
He would like to do nothing but visit water parks. However his uncle, who is an
Egyptologist, will have Sam solving questions and studying Egypt’s history.
On the plane ride to Egypt, Sam meets Mary, who lives in Egypt and seems to like the same things Sam likes. They make plans to meet at the water parks. However, Sam’s plans come to a halt when his Uncle Jasper doesn’t meet the plane because the police are hunting him and accusing him of theft. A taxi driver named Hadi helps Sam get away from the police and hide. Now Sam must use his brain to solve various clues from Egyptian history in order to find his uncle.
This is a well-written novel with strong male and female
characters that will appeal to middle-school readers.
Summary: Sam Force knows he is in trouble when the police
try to arrest him when he lands in Egypt to spend the summer with his uncle
Jasper, an Egyptologist. A young taxi driver helps him avoid the police and
start the search for his uncle. Readers will sit on the edge of their seats as
Sam gets into and out of trouble all over Egypt. Readers are in for a fast-paced
adventure throughout the vast desert landscape of Egypt.
