The Warlocks of Talverdine Nethin was just entering adulthood and beginning to control his Maker powers, when he was kidnapped by the Yehillon. They needed his powers to open the Gate to the Shadow Road that would take them to the Homeland. The Yehillon hope to find the way to destroy the nightwalker once and for all. In book four we meet Nethin, a prince in his province and just learning how to control his powers of Maker. He not only a Nightwalker but he is also half human and has inherited witch powers from his mother. The Yehillon kidnap him and almost kill his parents. The poison Nethin to control his powers until they can take him to where the Shadow road begins so that he can open the gates.
They control him to the point of almost incapacitating him but as he has no choice he begins the chant of the spell that will open the gates to the Shadow Road. The Yehillon believe that returning to the Homeland they will find answers and the key to controlling and destroying the Nightwalkers.
Once on the Shadow Road they discover all kinds of dangers and almost death. However, the truth is discovered there also and what they learn could change the course of the Yehillon and Nightwalker History. Unfortunately, the Shadow Road is also very unstable and it’s instability can cause dangers in all the world connected to the road.
The story starts out with an exciting first few episodes but it does slow down in the middle. However, it does picks up the excitement again and becomes very exciting. To understand the series the reader should read book number one “Nightwalkers”. Diaz, Magna

The story of Drucilla helps readers understand the tension in Salem Village during the time period when witches were called out. Readers will also experience the power of group mania. Drucilla, an orphaned girl, loses her mother at birth. She is raised by Gabe’s mother. In time both children are orphans depending upon themselves for comfort. As they past from home to home they learn skills and grow closer together. It was not easy on them to be separated when their last foster family broke up. Gabe and Drucilla were given to two separate families in town. The people involved were relatives by blood but enemies in action. Unfortunately Drucilla went to the home of Ann Putnam. The Putnams lived across the street from the parish house. As a result the daughter, Ann, and Dru became friends with the minister’s daughter and niece, Abigail, and slave TiTuba. Mistress Putnam was was a vengenful person who was an instigator in starting the calling out of witches. She worked with Reverend Samuel Parris to bring a reign of terror to the small Massachusetts town as innocent folks were declared witches and hanged. The author has written a book that will help young readers to understand that peer pressure and group powers can sway people to a course of action that is not always true to the facts involved. Penelope is a spirited young lady who doesn’t hesitate to stretch the customs of the era when it suits her. She is constantly causing some uproar . The plot thickens when Niall’s mother, who is a Sorceress herself, demands that Nialll get Penelope to fall in love with him. But true to most romantic plots, everything backfires when Niall falls deeply in love with Penelope and crosses his mother. It is a romantic and magical story of a young girl who comes to understand her powers and her heart’s inclinations. Annot his beloved is caught in the middle of this ugly battle and she believes that has soon as the veiled prince is able to capture Greyrock, she will be killed. With that knowledge she knows that she must escape before it is too late. Her capture was not done easily but her companion was killed in the process now Annot must find a way but how can she when she was hurt badly and her head show an ugly bruised that sometimes does not allow her to even stand. When the tower she is held prisoner is set on fire Annot is able to escape to safety but she is not able to communicate with Greyrock and he believes her dead.
Now the question is will she be able to find a way to save him before he is killed in battle with the evil veiled prince or will she lose him to the schemes of the group named the Yehillon.
This is book three of the series The Warlocks of Talverdin. the book does stand alone and is an exciting read. However, to be able to see the whole picture developing it would be good to read the first two book as the characters are a big part of the books. MD
