The book provides a discussion of the various types of games that children play, have played in the past, and will play in the future. This is an attractive and interesting easy reader for the I-can-read-it-myself set, with imaginative speculation about what kinds of games kids might play in the future. In addition, there is a little bit of history about the games that kids play today. It is nice that the focus is on non-electronic games, although the latter are mentioned in passing. There is also a chapter on books and reading, which is most gratifying, although the fact that e-books are not mentioned could be seen as a misstep, since kids are becoming quite familiar with them. The “Words to Know”, “Learn More” and index features are helpful and will make the book seem more grown-up to the young reader. Kennedy, Carol
