In order to
understand the nature of gases, this book offers a
series of simple experiments that
explore the basics
behind the theory.
The author presents easy-to-follow experiments that
illuminate the process through the creation of bubbles. These experiments are
well developed, plainly explained, and can be done with
ordinary household
materials. Each has a
list of materials needed and photographs of the different
steps that contain both boys and girls demonstrating the
experiments. The safety
concerns are addressed but not as thoroughly as might be
needed.
The book is designed
for a younger audience than most science experiment
books but is carefully set out. The writing is lively and informative and
provides a well-balanced look at a fascinating topic, with
many of the
scientific terms used being explained in context. It is
library-bound and
contains a glossary, a bibliography of books and web sires,
and an index.
This
science series covers experiments about different projects that
explode and implode, fizz and bubble, fly and move, and
surprise and delight
young readers. Ogintz,
Susan
