The role that the Canadian military
played in the invasion of Normandy is presented. In what is essentially an easy reader
for adults -- hence the series title Rapid Reads -- the author provides
a very informative history of the event in a manner that makes history
accessible to everybody. A small
collection of black-and-white photographs documents the event, bringing the text to life. The book concludes with an
index that facilitates referencing prior events as it is read. If the other titles are as well written and
informative as this one, this is a set of good
easy readers for adults, and as such, they would be of great value for
adult literacy programs. --Lynn
