Batman comes up against the infamous Catwoman when she heists an ancient Egyptian sistrum (a musical instrument) that gathers all of Gotham City’s cats to her.  When the mice and rats overrun the city, the Commissioner tasks Batman with finding her and solving the problem.  This is an action story pitting Batman and Catwoman against each other, with some humor that their real-life friendship allows.  The action moves along quickly in this easily read book -- a notch above the serialized chapter books.  The illustrations are bright and well placed throughout the story.  The quick pace will hold readers’ interest, and the story has enough substance to have entertained this adult reader.
