series: Velocity: Pro Wrestling Stars
The life and professional wrestling
career of superstar CM Punk is profiled in this colorful and engaging volume. Extensive information about his matches and
championships will make this a must-have for WWE fans. With twice the fan-friendly information as CM
Punk by Tony Smith (Bellweather Media, 2012), this volume will appeal to a
slightly older audience, but is still accessible for younger, and reluctant,
readers. Famous for his stand against
drugs and alcohol, Punk has been a rising star on the WWE circuit. Terminology is explained on every page where it
appears in the narrative, and supplemented by a glossary at the end of the
volume. Great photos show the star’s
signature moves, and charts of winning champions enhance the basic text. A timeline on pages 34-35 highlights his rise
to prominence.
The aforementioned glossary,
bibliographical references and an index complete the volume. Companion web sites for this volume are accessed through FactHound. While the use of the ISBN as a password can be cumbersome
for younger readers, there is adequate online material at FactHound to aid in
research. On the whole, professional
wrestling is a hot, and much-requested, topic.
This volume provides an engaging and useful volume for young
researchers, and has more information than the title published by
Bellweather Media. This book is part of
the the Velocity: Pro Wrestling Stars series, which includes six
books at this time. The focus of the
series is information about the biggest stars in professional wrestling, for upper-elementary and middle-school readers.
