In another world, each child is tested during their twelfth
year. Al has been studying and working
hard but is shocked to find he has been assigned the rank of zero.
Even “ones” are outcasts in his society.
With a little help from members of a secret organization, he makes several exciting
escapes. In one he meets a ruler who
says he has a job for Al to do. After several more
adventures and escapes, he finds out that he is the only one who can save his
country. The story purports that dragons
created all the races of their world but that they have turned evil and must be
destroyed. Al is to poison the source of
their power.
This title includes a great many battles, escapes, adventures and occurrences of intrigue. Boys will gravitate to it. The story is well crafted and keeps the reader involved while still trying to guess how can it all work out. The action starts almost immediately and is maintained throughout the entire story. This is an excellent entry by a new author.
